Hey friends, long time no see. Much like this piece I forgot to finish 🙈

How many pieces do you have going at once? How many do you have sitting in time out til you get back around?

Update for those curious: I'm still in very slow healing stages. The xrays and MRI showed degeneration in the spine along with a herniated disc. There may be some other things going on, but time will tell what other players are.

So stuff is going, just more slowly since tasks like sitting, walking etc are extremely difficult. But I'm on the road to recovery! So thank you all for the encouragement 🙏 ❤️

I was looking forward the most to drawing her in my style haha. It was important to convey her fiery personality, so I gave her a tougher, "don't test me" expression vs the original.

How are we doing?

For this year, one of the things Im challenging myself to develop is skill growth.

Truthfully, I've felt stagnant lately, even with the much needed holidays break.(Let's be real, 2024 was wild.)
It's hard sometimes when you feel like you've hit a wall. It's easy to get down on yourself as you celebrate others growth and success (which is amazing!), but you yourself still just feel, stuck. It's tough to remember comparison is the thief of joy.
Do any of you feel this way sometimes too?

📖 So to combat that, I'm dusting off old notes or art books and diving back into online videos.
For practice, I'm aiming to just do more of what I love with drawing or sketching favorite shows or characters.
(This sketch is from an adorable Kdrama I really enjoyed called "A Love so Beautiful " I definitely recommend 👌)

Maybe we can all work together to improve our skills? That would be fun. Maybe we can work out a way to do it together?

Sharing this today in honor of our 11th anniversary ❤️

We've been through so much together.

A lot of you guys may be new here, and may not know that I struggle with chronic health issues. The first year into our marriage, I was diagnosed with POTS and chronic migraine.

Symptoms that had been undiagnosed for years finally all bubbled over. Within a short time, I was unable to work. Other diagnoses came. We couldn't go out like we used to, I couldn't make art, and life was radically different. Taking care of myself was impossible. I was exhausted all the time. Meds didnt help. It felt like a broken mess.

But this man kept me together. Kept us together. He loved me regardless. He cried with me, sat with me, fed me, encouraged me- did whatever was needed whenever, no judgment, no questions asked.
Without him, I don't think I would be where I am.
"Love is patient. Love is kind. Is not puffed up. Not easily angered. Seeks not it's own. Hopes for all things, endures all things."

I'm so thankful for him and for patience and love and compassion and wisdom and understanding and grace.
After time and life changes, things are so much better now. While health will always be a struggle, I'm so thankful to God daily for such a compassionate partner in life.

Happy anniversary, babe. Love you ❤️

(Leyendecker has always been a favorite artist of mine- the chunky brushstrokes are *chefs kiss*. So I tried to incorporate that style into this piece.)
